| APPALACHIAN DANCERS |
Appalachian Dancing has evolved from a mixture of dance styles taken to the Appalachian Mountains of North America by the Irish and Scottish settlers of the 19th century. It is danced to the Old-Time tunes that came with them from the Celtic homelands and has been greatly influenced by the African and Native American rhythms they found in the New World. This exciting mixture of traditions provides the basis for the exhilarating percussive nature of Appalachian Dance today.
Classy, original choreography inspired by authentic Old-Time music guarantees Raise the Dust will kick up a storm, whatever the occasion. Previous festival appearances include Scottish Highland Festival, North Wales Blue Grass Festival, Whitby, Pontardawe, Wimbourne, Broadstairs, Chippenham, A1 Festival, Nantwich, Beverley, Fylde, Fishguard, Saltburn....and many more.
