just minutes from the famous ironbridge.
Maesbury Marsh
near Oswestry, Shropshire
The Navigation Inn (SJ 314 250; 01691
672958) – lovely pub with great food and real-ales
beside the Shropshire Union Canal.
Yorton
Shropshire
The Railway Inn (SJ
515 239; 01939 220240) – old-fashioned pub with beautifully
kept real-ales. Try the Wood's Shropshire Lad ale. No
meals but will do sandwiches
Eardisley
Herefordshire
The New Strand cafe at the New Inn pub (SO
310 497) – cafe, pub, 2nd-hand book shop and Post
Office all in one building. Closed Tuesdays?
Much Marcle
Herefordshire
The Scrumpy House cafe at Weston's
Cider mill (SO 650 331) – good
place to eat. While in Much Marcle it is worth buying other local
cider and perry (Greg's Pit & Lyne Down)
from the village shop at the A449 crossroads.
Pembridge Herefordshire
Dunkerton's Cider Mill (SO
395 565) 1 mile along lane to Luntley – lovely home-made
chocolates and ice cream as well as cider and perry from one of
the longest established real cider makers in England.

Jules cafe in main

cafe/restaurant run by a former cyclist.
Almeley

The Bells Inn

– cosy little country pub (open every day including Mondays).
Malvern
The Malvern Hills Kiosk (SO
763 404) on the A449/B4232 junction by Herefordshire Beacon
– excellent local ice creams from this roadside kiosk. Try
the damson and sloe gin!
